Tyga feat. Wale, Fabolous, T.I., Meek Mill, Young Jeezy – Rack City (Remix)

Replaces the original’s mediocre lyrics with some strong, on-point flows from the relevant artists in the game.  Keeps the hypnotic beat.  What’s more to like?

Trae Tha Truth feat Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wiz Khalifa, Wale – I’m On

Trae, while mostly unknown to most of the United States, has been a staple in the Houston rap scene for over a decade.  While his fellow third coasters (Lil Flip, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones to name a few) have all become mainstream names, Trae has stayed more or less underground.  That all might change with the release of his upcoming album Street King, which is packed with features if you can’t tell from this track.  All the rappers go in on this track, even Wiz. Here’s some older Trae.  ”The Truth” off his classic album “Life Goes On”. This one’s worth listening to for the beat alone. Download link

Wale ft. Jeremih & Rick Ross- That Way

Maybach Music Group’s first compilation, Self Made is set to drop tomorrow (May 23). “That Way” is a hidden gem that puts out a different sound than the rest of the album. Producer Lex Luger puts down a smooth & soulful underlying beats while Wale leads with sensual lyrics. Rick Ross’ rough edges in the third act adds the perfect depth to the track. This is a great mix of talent that works. Peep it! Download link

Wale – Jump (Freestyle)

Wale jumps on the classic Kriss-Kross beat for a “freestyle”.  To be honest, sometimes I confuse the dude with B.o.B – they both got this alternative edge but are mainstream-pop “but I can still flow” rap personas (not hood, not indie, not club, not stoner).   In another discussion, as far as preteen musicians go, Kriss Kross shits on the Bieber, amiright? Maybe not, I don’t really know… Download link
