New Rap From The Past Week
Since we haven’t had any rap posts in a little while, here’s a handful that are fresh off the Pro Tools..
DJ Drama feat. 2 Chainz, Meek Millz, Jeremih – My Moment Beat and vibe very similar to I’m On One, and that’s a not a bad thing.

Rick Ross – I Love My B*tches

My affinity for Rick Ross is partly from his quality of music but mostly from the pure comedy of how outrageous his character is. This track is a good example of that mixture. Plus it’s a Just Blaze beat. Download link

Another brand new one from Ross, this time featuring Nicki Minaj, titled “You The Boss”. Likely to be the bigger hit of the two considering the star power on the track. Download link

Yung Joc feat. Rick Ross – Ugh

Hipster rap and electro jams just can’t knock with those dirty south 808s. Post up music. Cruise real slow to this bass. The Rick Ross “ugh” parts are gold – dude doesn’t even have a verse on the track!! Watch out for the DJ tags at the beginning and end. Download link

Wale ft. Jeremih & Rick Ross- That Way

Maybach Music Group’s first compilation, Self Made is set to drop tomorrow (May 23). “That Way” is a hidden gem that puts out a different sound than the rest of the album. Producer Lex Luger puts down a smooth & soulful underlying beats while Wale leads with sensual lyrics. Rick Ross’ rough edges in the third act adds the perfect depth to the track. This is a great mix of talent that works. Peep it! Download link

DJ Khaled feat. Rick Ross, Drake, Lil Wayne – I’m On One
“You n*ggaz on the bench like the bus coming” Been waiting for a track like this to drop. It’s not the usual hyped up track from Khaled, but a hypnotic, haze inspired joint that may produce a contact high. Superstar lineup, but the savior on this one is Drake, as the chorus melts “I’ma sip until I feel it, I’ma smoke until it’s done, I don’t really give a fuck, and my excuse is that I’m young”

Meek Millz ft. Rick Ross – I’m a Boss

“Fuck a blog dawg, cuz one day we gon’ meet” I hope that’s true Ross. You bounced back like a beast after the whole Officer Ricky fiasco. I honestly thought your career was over, then you released the Teflon Don and now no one even brings your past up. This track goes HAM; if I was a baseball player, I would use this as my batter-up music…

Ace Hood feat. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne – Hustle Hard (Remix)
“Closed mouths don’t get fed on this boulevard.” Another Lex Lugar H.A.M. beat. Ross and Weezy are natural choices for this remix, which is much better than the original. I haven’t heard too much of Ace Hood, but upon further research, he seems to specialize on get your grind on music.

Rick Ross feat. T.I – 9 Piece
This track bangs too hard for the lounge crowd but is perfect for the crack rap aficionados. One of those joints to knock in your car as the 808s are booming. Rick Ross shows up with his straightforward to-the-point flow and for those that need help with their drug vocab, Urban dictionary is the spot if you don’t want to make the trip to your local projects.
Here’s another Rick Ross and T.I. track, another one bound to bang in trunks of old Cadillacs. The intro gives me goosebumps it goes so hard, this one’s called “Pledge Allegience to the Swag”
