Dear Vibe Addicts– Sincere apologies on the post delays. Unfortunately all of the writers to the website have been on the road with limited access to internet. I hope you feel us on that one. It won’t be long before we are back in full swing. But today I bring you the melodic tunes from Metric. As Deep has said many times before, their tracks are just begging to be remixed and The Twelves have done it again. Download link
Dark, evocative remix by Amtrac. It’s got a tinge of dubstep that’s more smooth than hard. The pitched up vocals may take a bit to get used to, but as I’ve said before, Metric’s tracks are begging to be remixed and made epic. When the chopped up vocals dropped on the chorus, I just about lost it. Music for the apocalypse..
Also, I want to give a big welcome to atxtina who is joining as an author and contributor to the site! Check out her first post below.
I posted a dope Metric remix a month back, something about the band makes them perfect candidates for an electro remix. My guess is the chick’s vocals, which are just brimming with intensity and emotion. MSTRKRFT does a great job here, slowing down the original and highlighting the epic chorus “I fought the war, but the war won’t stop for the love of God…” Download link
I post a lot of electronic tracks where I have to skip the first minute of the song to get to the meat of the song, I’m guessing because a long drum intro helps the DJ mix in between two tracks when playing live. This track is an example of an interesting buildup that maintains anticipation and drops in to something even better. It gets a bit crazy in the middle, but a marvelous track overall.
