Pretty Lights – Radiohead vs. Nirvana vs. NIN (Remix/Mashup)

It’s not often that I get to post a killer American electronic producer rather than someone from Sweden, France, the UK, or the Netherlands.  Pretty Lights puts together a fabulous track, a very clean mix that comes together over a slow, stomping beat.  Pretty Lights, real name Derek Smith, impresses me most because his tracks are all so diverse , some beautifully nostalgic and others more upbeat affairs.  Download link.

  • This song is what I like to call a ‘Teaser’. You keep waiting for a heavy drop, or, the orgasm, some call it the climax, I call it the orgasm, anyway, you wait for the orgasm to happen, but it never does. The end result is this thing I like to call ‘Being Artistically Blue Balled’. It’s a really bad feeling. The best way to avoid being artistically blue balled is to have zero expectation when listening to a song for the first time, that way you don’t get musically horny and expect an orgasm in the song.
