MGMT – Congratulations (Erol Alkan Rework)

Erol Alkan takes the colorless title track from MGMT’s disappointing second album and reworks it into a track that’s worthy of their first. It’s fitted with a simple party-starter guitar riff and a hip-shaking bassline.

DJ Champion – Keep On Riding
Props to my good buddy Maciek for putting me on to this dude. If you liked this, I recommend you get his album Chill Em All. It’s full of tracks that build with multiple electric guitars accompanied by lounge beats. Easy grooves to vibe to, just plain cool tracks that are on the edge of bursting. Download link

Sol – So Damn High
You can probably guess from the title that the track is about everyone’s favorite hangover cure. Can’t help but like this one, it’s just so bright and upbeat. Sol is an upcoming rapper out of Seattle, and if he keeps hoppin on beat like this, I’m sure success will follow the kid.

The Whitest Boy Alive – Golden Cage (Fred Falke remix)
Fred Falke has a knack for creating these cheerful disco-lights tracks. This one’s a remix of Norwegian band The Whitest Boy Alive, who I also recommend you check out if you haven’t done so already.

Throwback Thursday – Deltron 3030 – 3030
“I used to be a mech soldier, but I didn’t respect orders.” Today’s throwback is from the future. Deltron 3030 is a duo comprised of producer Dan the Automator and emcee Del tha Funky Homosapien. The two came together to create a masterpiece of a concept album chocked with “nueromancers” and “cyber warlords”. A beautiful beat with a wicked bassline, and Del spitting some out of this world shit. Download link

Game feat. Lil Wayne – Su Woo
Game and Weezy come together for a Blood gang track… I would call it an anthem but it’s too laidback for that label. Bump this in your ride with the windows down and seat back, preferably in Cali weather.

Wynter Gordon – Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke remix)
House jam remix tailored straight for the dance floor from Laidback Luke. The track takes on a surprising Afrojack feel after the intro when the throbbing synth drops.

50 Cent – Happy New Year freestyle
“I started out with one pill, now I’m taking ten a day/ Em said I need help, Dre said that shit OK” 50 Cent brings in the New Year with rhymes of drugs and excess over a dope beat.
